Vice, Washington,
DC.
G. Mathurin
MC is defined by some as Master
of Ceremony, but the great rapper Rakim said, "MC means move
the crowd." Which is what Freddy of Top Vice did in Washington
DC during the Haitian Mother's Day concert on May 28.
It had been a rainy Memorial day weekend in the North East, and
everyone was looking for a bit of sunshine. Top Vice brought the
Miami sunshine to DC. Freddy, a former Washington DC area resident,
came back to the welcome of old friends and family.

|
Back
in his days in the DC area, Carmelo Frederic was known to everyone
in the community, so it is no surprise that the whole DC area Haitian
community came out to support Top Vice and the man known to all
simply as "Freddy."
Along with the rest of the band, Freddy
did not disappoint. He proved that he is one of the greatest entertainers
in the world of international music, today. |

Robert Martino, a definite legend
in the Haitian music scene, not only for his own accomplishments
as a guitarist and songwriter, but also for having fathered two
of the young superstars of T-Vice. |
|
Robert Charlo, a favorite of many of the
ladies, played quietly in the background. But, his touch was felt
throughout the concert. |
For years in the DC area,
we've heard of the legends of Top Vice in Miami, but very few had
actually experienced the power and uniqueness of their sound. Top
Vice came to DC, moved
the crowd into a frenzy with their special blend of konpa rhythm.

The Concert series of the year 2000
has had a great run in the DC area. Top Vice was not going to be
outdone by Tabou, Zin, or even T-Vice. They pleased the crowd with
a combination of old and new hits, including "Caroline,"
"M'andedan," "Fan'm Deyo," and
"Compas L'An 2000." |

Fan'm Ayiesiên
yo came out in full force
to the show. Although outside was a rainy, inside was Miami nice.
|
| Being
Haitian Mother's Day, Freddy took time out to dance and celebrate
with his own manman.
Many of his old friends were happy
to see him back in the area. He got his start at the local bal
and it was obvious that he appreciated the people and acknowledge
all his old friends and family.
<< Freddy and his mother, known
to all, lovingly, as "bouboute." |

Freddy, a true entertainer, worked
his magic with the crowd. Top Vice makes Miami its home, and they
hardly come to the Washington DC area. So, many in the crowd were
not sure what to expect, but after the concert they thanked the
band as well as the promoters for a great time. |
|
Keeping true with the multi cultural world
we live in, Top Vice was comfortable in English, Kreyol, French,
and even Spanish, no doubt a Miami influence. |
>>
When it comes to bal in the DC area, the ladies take their
fashion very seriously.
Top Vice closed the show with a RARA,
that took many back to the days of boutêy et ti fê.
No matter the crowd or the music that
they're playing, Top Vice proved to be great entertainers. Miami
is lucky to have them regularly.

Top Vice shared the stage with a new singer,
Harry Juste, who did an incredible job on the ladies. The ladies
loved the slow ballads. We hope to hear more and see more from this
singer in the near future. |

Freddy took time out to
congratulate Keisha and Daphney, two recent college grads. After
a long year of studying the ladies came to have a good time and
were not disappointed.
